MARKET ACCESS LEAD FRANCE (F/H)


 

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (Point of Care Biology) is recruiting an experienced Market Access professional to support its growing business in France, within the Infectious Diseases business unit. The position will primarily focus on the French market, also supporting opportunities in Belgium/Netherlands, requiring leadership of both national & local market access activities. Expanding access through reimbursement or allocated funding of priority point of care diagnostics to the primary care segment will be a core deliverable of the role.

 

The Role


  

As a highly experienced Market Access professional, you will use your experience within France, Benelux & beyond, to navigate the payer decision-making processes within the medical diagnostics sector. Leveraging your network and contacts within payer communities in these markets, you play a key role in influencing the decision-making process to drive uptake, strengthen evidence and improve value propositions for key products.

Collaboration will be a key driver of success and working in close partnership with other functions within the group is essential to maximise the effectiveness of Market Access. Working closely with Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Commercial groups, you will need to be a strong leader, who provides market access expertise & is able to effectively communicate to use the wider team’s abilities and strengths to your advantage to achieve a common goal.

 

Key Responsibilities


  • Development & implementation of comprehensive business plans to address reimbursement & funding issues in France (& Benelux). Mapping or defining with local payers, clear pathways to product adoption ensuring evidence aligns with local evaluation needs.
  • Evaluate threats and opportunities arising out of legislation, regulations, health technology assessments from Governments, health authorities, public and private payers & determine their implications alongside internal stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of localized payer engagement tools to enable reimbursement for key product lines by public and private payers, with the intent to help commercial teams on key accounts to develop business.
  • Where required, develop local evidence in collaboration with cross-functional groups from marketing, medical affairs and commercial; translate evidence into usable payer tools to ensure successful funding outcomes.
  • Construct and own strong relationships with key external payers and their influencers, as the primary point of contact; work cross-functionally to accumulate feedback from KOLs/payers to drive relevant market access activities.
  • Ensure cross-functional alignment with other functional areas to ensure proper value communication with local payers via the different channels available.
  • Shape and manage the external environment and the effect of payer/health policy through mapping the decision-making process, identifying the key stakeholders and influencing both the external and internal stakeholders to deal with them.
  • Ensure full representation and participation of market access function in country commercial team meetings.

We are looking for seasoned Market Access professionals who are able to demonstrate the following experience;

  • Significant experience working in the field of Market Access, specifically within France with established networks with Payers.
  • Detailed knowledge of the healthcare landscape, including payer/provider environment.
  • Experience working within the Diagnostics sector preferred, ideally with experience working closely with payers to gain reimbursement for diagnostic solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen & payer negotiation skills
  • Degree level essential, Masters level or PhD in a relevant field preferred (e.g. health economics)
  • Fluency in English & French (essential)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritise & manage complex projects
